Education fundamentally represents the mean by which people pass on knowledge or experience.
In my opinion, one of the issues with education's purpose nowadays is that society leads most children in using the time dedicated to education ( school time ) for activities completely different to the ones that it was conceived for, like gaining of knowledge or preparation for life.
But how could this be ?
It's simple: You take one piece of old school system which did not work very well in it's time, let alone in nowadays' ever more dynamic and changing society, apply it to today's generation of youngsters and all you get is hate and disgrace which in turn reflects in the society.
I would like to point out that it has become increasingly clear in my mind that today's social drama is actually nothing more then a repercussion of the faults of the school system.
It seems to me that Romania's school system has become more focused on teaching a lot of theory without the practical background required to make it work and less focused on building individual character which is probably the most important thing a child could learn from school. Instead of teaching young teens into becoming adults and building a good and strong society based on human interaction, inter-help, and that no one person can be greater than another by means of money, power, social status or otherwise but by kindness. They are educated to be individual-oriented people which only purpose in life is supposed to be self-accomplishment, and, while I do not deny the importance of a
human being's self-accomplishment in the life
it (and I assume the using of
it in this context as a way of expressing the fact that human beings are by nature the same and only by shape divided into sexes) may have here, the problem I see involving this matter is that self-accomplishment is not seen as helping others, but just as helping one's self, which leads to individualization, while a good and prosperous society is not a number of individuals which act solely in their interest, but a good and prosperous society is a gathering of individuals which each work towards the rest of the group's welfare and thus receiving the same level of work from the rest of the group.
To conclude the social part of this article I would like to point out that a society which is based on individualization is not a society but a bunch of individuals and for those of you out there that may consider this a communist way of seeing things I would like to state the fact that they are basicly right and just in case pictures of ruthless dictators come to mind you should know that they were nothing less then outcasts in a society which encouraged them to become what they were, whereas the society that I see fit for the current times, a society which should know not the feeling of hate for one individual because that would mean hate to the rest of the individuls and to own self. Furthermore I would like to add the fact that the use of force in achieving this would mean it's failure for a peacefull society is not achieved by means of force but by means of love and education.
